The Show
The Chad Hasty Show is Lubbock’s Radio Revolution. What does that mean? Well, it’s the new age of talk radio. It’s not boring, it’s not preachy, it’s real talk radio. We are the guys at the bar talking about politics, entertainment, sex, sports, and everyday life. It’s been called one of the edgiest shows on the air, and we are proud of that. The Chad Hasty Show is here to entertain with humor and being that “edgy show” that some people are ashamed to listen to. Tune in every Saturday to listen to REAL talk radio and get ready to have fun listening.

The Cast

Chad Hasty, Host
Lubbock’s own “Shock Jock” was born in Grand Prairie, Texas or as many say, The Metroplex. Chad got his start in radio during the Summer of 2003 as an intern for The Williams and Hyatt Show at 950AM. Shortly after that, Chad became the producer for a morning show where he started learning just what you can and can’t say in Lubbock. After almost 2 years at 950 AM and seeing many people come and go around him, and being told not to talk because he was “over shadowing the hosts” he was ungagged and unleashed to the Williams and Hyatt Show and took over as Producer in early 2005 on 1340AM. In 2006, KFYO saw they had a talent that they had to get on the air, and thus The Chad Hasty Show was born on January 7th, 2006.

In February of 2008 Chad took on a new show, Lubbock’s First News with Chad Hasty. LFN is the more serious, though not all the time, side of Chad. Chad dishes out opinion while talking to those in power and those that want power all while taking caller’s opinions. You can hear LFN weekday mornings 6-9am on KFYO. Go to the LFN page for more info.

Chad graduated in 2007 from Texas Tech University with a degree in Communication Studies. In Chad’s free time when he doesn’t shut himself off from the outside world, he likes to spend a night out on the town surrounded by his friends. Chad also likes to make trips to his hometown of Grand Prairie on occasion, and also likes to take other road trips and vacations. Chad’s favorite sports teams include the Cowboys, Stars, Red Sox, and of course the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Casey Cowan, Co-Host
Casey Cowan is the second greatest American to come from the dusty plains of Littlefield, TX, trailing only the immortal coattails of Waylon Jennings.  He traveled southbound down Highway 84 in 2003 to become a student at Texas Tech and is seriously considering making an attempt at graduating with a degree in Psychology sometime in the near future.  He has wasted many days, months, and even years dreaming of the day when he would have the chance to fill the airwaves with his own brand of humor and insight, which can be counted on to inform, entertain, and undoubtedly frighten the masses.  He got his start in 2005 at 105.3 KLVT in Levelland as the “Lone Wolf” of their regional high school football broadcasts.  After several protests and a few lawsuits still pending, it was agreed upon that his style was better suited for talk radio.  After scanning the airwaves and bypassing all the monotonous, communist propaganda that fills the air, he stumbled upon a renaissance man by the name of Chad Hasty.  A bond was forged through the fires of KFYO, giving him a chance to spark the minds of an entirely new audience.  He still dabbles in the sports broadcasting trade as a color commentator for KZZN 1490am, but only for the money and women.  His heart and allegiance now lies with the brigade of bandits that comprises what is known to the world as The Chad Hasty Show.  He is an avid Red Raider fan and they, along with, the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, and even the lowly Texas Rangers, have captured his heart for over twenty years. They have indubitably brought him some of the highest and lowest moments of his life, but through it all, like any good American, he has remained loyal, steadfast, and opposed to all things Aggie.
